Neosexualität und der Einsatz sexuellen Kapitals: die Erzeugung von Begehren auf OnlyFans

Abstract

Diese Masterarbeit untersucht, wie sexuelles Kapital auf der Plattform OnlyFans eingesetzt wird, um Begehren zu erzeugen und ökonomisch zu verwerten. Theoretisch stützt sich die Arbeit auf Siguschs neosexuelle Prozesse, die Typologie sexuellen Kapitals nach Kaplan und Illouz sowie Govrins Überlegungen zum Begehrenswert und zur Funktion von Authentizität. Methodisch wurde eine qualitative deduktive Inhaltsanalyse anhand von fünf leitfadengestützten Interviews mit Akteur:innen der Plattform OnlyFans durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass neosexuelle Prozesse wie Dissoziation, Dispersion und Diversifikation auf der Plattform in spezifischen Ausprägungen beobachtbar sind. Sexuelles Kapital lässt sich in modifizierten Formen rekonstruieren, wobei insbesondere Strategien des Brandings, der Differenzierung und der medienvermittelten Körperinszenierung zentral sind. Hinweise aus dem Datenmaterial legen nahe, dass Begehren nicht natürlich vorausgesetzt, sondern über narrative Skripte, Zuschreibungen und dialogische Kommunikation erzeugt wird. Authentizität erscheint dabei als eingesetzte Ressource im Rahmen parasozialer Nähe.

This master's thesis analyses how sexual capital is used on the OnlyFans platform to generate desire and exploit it economically. Theoretically, the work is based on Sigusch's neosexual processes, Kaplan and Illouz's typology of sexual capital and Govrin's considerations on desirability and the function of authenticity. Methodologically, a qualitative deductive content analysis was conducted on the basis of five guided interviews with actors on the OnlyFans platform. The results indicate that neosexual processes such as dissociation, dispersion and diversification can be observed in specific forms on the platform. Sexual capital can be reconstructed in modified forms, with strategies of branding, differentiation and media-mediated body staging are particularly central. Indications from the data material suggest that desire is not naturally assumed, but is generated via narrative scripts, attributions and dialoguebased communication. Authenticity appears to be a deliberate resource in the context of parasocial proximity formats.
